Concrete Form Builder Job Summary

We are looking for an aspiring concrete form builder to join our team as an Apprentice. We furnish you with the necessary technical skills to launch a rewarding career. You will work under the supervision of a lead carpenter to perform specific duties in the construction of walls, footings, slabs and assisting them in their duties while you train and gain a better understanding of your trade. An apprenticeship with our organization entails several years of on-the-job training. Experience in residential construction is beneficial, especially in areas like siding or drywall installation. You need excellent communication skills to coordinate with other workers, such as electricians or construction managers.

Concrete Form Builder Duties and Responsibilities

• Install ties, forms and hardware
• Measure, cut and assist in installing keyways
• Assist with footing construction (secure stakes to grids; nail scabs to footing forms; assist carpenter in raising forms to required elevation; consolidate concrete in forms; float concrete)
• Vibrate and float concrete
• Assists in the building, erecting, and aligning of forms for various concrete structures and foundations according to blueprints and specifications
• Assists in installing all types of formwork
• Install and remove shores/re-shores and scaffolding
• Performing general labor work
• Set up and maintain tools for your supervising carpenter
